Outbreaks of Botulism in Ponds and Lakes in South East London
Recently there have been numerous outbreaks of Botulism in ponds and lakes in the south east London area. In The Tarn alone (Mottingham, SE9) more than 30 ducks and geese have died as a direct result of this.  Willow Wildlife managed to rescue 20 ducks and treated them with fluid therapy and antibiotics before transferring them to The Swan Sanctuary in Shepperton. All 20 survived.
